Policy & Public Affairs Lead
Tracks the policy landscape around RSE and represents SRHE's position in external policy conversations.
What you'll do
- Monitor DfE and government policy developments relevant to RSE in 16+ settings
- Draft SRHE's positions on relevant consultations and policy developments
- Build relationships with relevant policy stakeholders and sector bodies
- Support the Executive Director in any external representation of SRHE
Essential criteria
- Understanding of the UK education policy landscape, ideally including RSE/PSHE
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write for policy audiences
- Comfortable working with ambiguity in an early-stage organisation
Desirable criteria
- Experience in public affairs, policy, or advocacy roles
- Existing relationships with relevant sector or government stakeholders
No direct contact with young people. This role does not involve direct contact with children or vulnerable adults, so an enhanced DBS check is not required. Safeguarding training is still mandatory for every SRHE volunteer.
